ABOUT THE ARTIST

Sofia Amal Montelibano is a nineteen year old artist from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is studying at the Rhode Island School of Design class of 2028. She has attended art school since the sixth grade, starting at Pittsburgh Creative And Performing Arts before transferring to Idyllwild Arts Academy her sophomore year of high school. She graduated from Idyllwild in 2024.

Amal expresses her passion and love of art through creation. Her artwork usually works to unpack her mind , touring the audience through themes of self doubt, growing older, and the struggles of femininity. Even with such heavy themes Amal wants viewers to connect with and appreciate fine art and the power that it can hold as a medium for expression.
